During monsoon season, our immunity level becomes l0w and the chances of getting cold, cough and flu are more when compared to other seasons. Our ancestors used to change the food habits depending upon the climates. Fenugreek seeds or methi seeds are the best choice of spices to be added to tackle climate change from hot to cool. Fenugreek seeds are packed with vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and Vitamin K. It also contains a good amount of folic acid.

The porridge prepared by fenugreek seeds is one of the famous traditional recipes suitable for the rainy season.
Cuisine Type: Indian
Ingredients (For 3 people)
Fenugreek: 50 g (sprouted is the best)
Rice: 100 g
Jaggery: 200 g
Salt: a pinch
Coconut milk: 100 ml
Cashew: 10
Ghee: 1 tsp
Dry ginger powder: ¼ tsp
Cooking procedure:
- In a pressure cooker, add rice and sprouted fenugreek.
- Add 2 glasses of water.
- Cook it in a slow flame.
- After 2 whistles, switch off the stove.
- In another pan, add grated jaggery and add 1 glass of water.
- Stir well and allow it to boil. So that the jaggery gets completely dissolved in it.
- Stain it to remove the dust particles.
- Add this syrup into the cooker and mix well.
- Keep it in a slow flame for 10 minutes. Stir it frequently and add a pinch of salt.
- Now add the coconut milk. When it starts boiling, switch off the flame.
- Sprinkle dry ginger powder.
- Fry cashews in ghee and garnish the porridge.

Dry Ginger:
Dry ginger is called as sonth in Hindi. Addition of dry ginger makes the porridge more tasty and aromatic. It can cure stomach problems, headache, common cold, etc.
Cashew:
Cashew is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals that help to enhance immunity. The good fat content in it helps to maintain a healthy heart.
