This charu rasam recipe is specifically used to improve digestion. It is like rasam with the combination of tamarind and tomato. It has some antimicrobial properties to protect against infections and flu.

Cuisine Type: Andhra
Ingredients: (for 2 people)
Tamarind: lemon sized (without seeds)
Tomato: 1 medium (finely chopped)
Jaggery: 1 tsp
Green chillies: 2
Turmeric: ½ tsp
Asafoetida: 2 pinch
Ajwain: ½ tsp (optional)
Salt: 1 tsp
Coriander leaves: 2 tsp chopped
Water: 2 cups
Cooking Procedure:
- Take all the above ingredients in a kadai and allow them to boil for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once the froth floatation is formed, off the stove.
- Your Andhra rasam (charru) is ready. Serve with rice.
